Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer specialising in the modern stack.
I am dedicated and passionate about development & UI and am always looking for new challenges within the industry, I am constantly improving and updating my skills and I quickly adapt to the continually evolving digital industry.
Happy working with Node.js, React, Vue.js, Vanilla JavaScript / TypeScript or any framework, Kubernetes, AWS, Rest, GraphQL, MongoDB and PostgreSQL. I also enjoy tinkering with Go in my spare time.
EXPERIENCE
LandTech
Decemeber 2021 – Present | Senior Software Engineer
Working within a cross functional team as a Full-Stack Software Engineer focused on visually delivering new datasets to customers, this included designing the database, the front-end components and upgrading a brownfield Express/GraphQL Server. I became a specialist working with Apollo Server and even created my own data source package and was the go to engineer on the front-end components.
I have recently moved into the LandFund team which includes me leading the Vue to React Migration.
During the short time I have been in this team, I have helped improved local development by setting a fully working local environment, helping improve the git processes and am managing the migration to React.
The tech stack: Node/Express with Apollo Server, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, Vue, React, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
SmartSurvey
May 2019 – November 2021 | Lead Front-end Developer
Working within an agile team, I lead the Front-end development & team at SmartSurvey. This includes maintaining and adding features, creating POCs and suggesting how to move the application(s) forward, along with overseeing all Front-end Pull Requests and developers.
I was the driving force behind SmartSurvey moving to use Vue.js so that more client-side features could be introduced with an vastly improved user experience, I over-saw many new and existing features being created and released to customers.
DesignReligion
November 2017 – May 2019 | Head of Digital
As the Head of Digital at DesignReligion I was responsible for overseeing all digital projects, the development team and a designer. I was directly involved in every digital project, including design, pitching, development and deploying the website.
March 2013 – November 2017 | Digital Creative & Developer
When I started at DesignReligion they had no digital offering and were a branding agency, the digital department was built around myself, where I designed and developed the clients websites.
DesignReligion primarily focused on building bespoke WordPress Websites around a theme which I had developed however we also built some custom projects using Laravel and Angular / Vue.
NinetyFive Creative
June 2011 – March 2013 | Web Designer & Developer
I started at NinetyFive Creative as they had just won a large contract for 30 website and didn't have the resources to build these in house. All the website were delivered to the clients specification and we continued to build the digital offering from there.
